In 2015 heb ik voor het eerst meegedaan aan het internationale kunstproject: The Sketchbook Project. Ik heb me als kunstenaar via de website aangemeld en kreeg een mooi handzaam schetsboekje thuisgestuurd vanuit Amerika. Hierin heb ik collages van foto's en tekeningen gemaakt waarin ik geborduurd heb met het thema: Parts of the Whole. Wat ik heel toepasselijk vond, aangezien we allemaal één schetsboekje maken die deel van de gehele collectie zijn. Ook in de zen-zin natuurlijk. We zijn allemaal deel van het geheel. Alles is één. We vormen met planten, dieren en mensen samen het universum.

Een aantal van de pagina's uit het schetsboekje zijn hier te zien. Een aantal pagina's heb ik ingelijst en tentoongesteld tijdens de Open Vlampijpatelierdagen 2015. Het is inspirerend om met kunstenaars van over de hele wereld aan iets te werken. Het leuke van het project is ook dat alle schetsboekjes in een bibliotheek/galerie komen te staan in New York waar het publiek ze kan inkijken. In de zomer wordt er ook rondgereden met een grote biblio-bus vol met schetsboekjes die dan steeds in een plaats stopt, vervolgens een terrasje uitzet en koffie serveert om het publiek op een ontspannen manier de mogelijkheid te bieden internationale kunst-uitingen te kunnen doorbladeren. This year I made a sketchbook and joined a global communtity of artists! The Sketchbook Project is an independent Brooklyn-based company that organizes global, collaborative art projects. The flagship endeavor is The Sketchbook Project, a crowd-sourced library that features 33,733 artists' books contributed by creative people from 135+ countries. Brooklyn Art Library is the storefront exhibition space in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY where The Sketchbook Project collection is on view to the public. The Sketchbook Project began in 2006 in Atlanta, GA and moved to New York City in 2009. Since that time, the small organization has grown into a worldwide community of more than 70,000 artists.
